Since 2015, 145 Alabama Schweitzer Fellows have delivered 30,700+ hours of community service in partnership with 89+ community-based organizations across 12 counties. Their direct-service projects address unmet health needs and move the needle for underserved populations in Alabama.

Impact At Two Levels

We believe in impact at two levels: the micro—through rigorous leadership development and hands-on service each year—and the macro—by preparing the next generation of health leaders to champion equity throughout their careers.

Years End
The Difference Doesn’t

When the initial Fellowship year ends, the difference doesn’t. Fellows join the Schweitzer Fellows for Life network—now 4,000+ alumni nationwide—including 145 Alabama alumni who continue Dr. Albert Schweitzer’s living legacy.
